Add another entry to the Gym Hall of Weirdness

Today, a guy brought his cell phone into the showers with him.

*shakes head side to side*

What are these people thinking?

and then time stopped

I slept in this morning, to a whopping 8:30 am. The morning got a lazy start, as Tom and I had agreed to split up this morning for workouts since our gym circadian rhythms had gotten out of synch. The sun shone brightly through the open sun roof. The wind was a little too cold to be driving with open portals, but this was one of the first days of spring and I needed the vitamin D. When I Look At The World played on the CD deck, and I got one of those rare Zen moments where the future wasn't only bright but calm. I rarely get those sensations that everything is going to work out just fine but this was one of those moments.

I got to the gym, did a tough workout, dripping sweat as I lunged and squatted through my leg routine. At the end of the workout, I worked on my stomach. I got into a side bridge pose, where I keep my entire torso and legs straight as I brace my weight on my elbow, leaning on my side. I hold this position for 30 seconds, so I turned and stared at my Swiss Army watch (gift of Charlotte and Heather). Tick-tock-tick**** The second hand froze, stuck at the 4' position. Eeep. My hips quivered with fatigue. Then, all the time went rushing by -- the second hand sped past 6 ticks to catch up.

I think I need a new battery.
