13 hours turned into 4 minutes
My brother in law recently competed in the Couer d'Alene Ironman. It is amazing and humbling to watch them compete -- some of them by the end had looks of complete agony. One competitor crossed the finish line with a such a horrible grimace on his face, not even the cheers and support of the crowd could banish sad mask look on his face.
Jason did it in an astonshing 12 hours and 50 minutes which is 10 minutes under his 13 hour goal, despite the crippling heat which did in so many of the participants. My friend Michelle managed to complete it in just over 14 hours -- she seemed always really happy and perky which is -- again -- astonishing.
I brought my video camera but the spare battery I had didn't work so I had only so-so footage to work with. But hopefully you get the idea of the competition. The guy in slowmo is my brother in law, in case you didn't figure that out.
