The Ads
After a lot of work, the Howard Brown safer-sex promotion ads are finally done and approved by the key people. (Read the notes on the photo shoot for some background.) I am excited because now we are moving into the production phase -- working out the details with Howard Brown on how many /which ones they want to produce. I haven't showed these to HB yet as I wanted to get permission of the other model and the photographer, but that is still a big chicken that hasn't hatched yet. I am excited but kind of nervous -- but even if they are not produced, I still have a huge swelling of pride that these are accomplished.
Of course the point of these is that they are fairly "racy" so keep in mind that they (ahem) may not be work safe. (M. called these jokingly "smut.")

I think there are going to cause "huge swellings" of a different kind in their intended audiences. You look great in these!
OK, now that I've had a chance to come back and react to them...I like the copylines on #2 and #7 the most. The copywriter in me says to change #5 to "Used these. Finished this" so that the two lines read more smoothly together. Finally, #4 confused me--wait, using condoms will give me super strength to break through steel? Cool! I'll wear one all the time, under my clothes! :) Maybe it should be something simpler like "Used these. Used these again." Or, a little racier, "Got well used."

Well . . . you certainly have courage, not that you really need it given how good you look in these, and how hot the shots are with your, ahem, partner. My personal favorite is #4, partly because you guys look like real guys having a real sexual escapade, rather than decapitated sex bodies (no offense). An extermely close second is #7 because of, uh, well, the cowboy hat - that's... that's... great.
I also enjoyed the elegantly simple, yet creativily raw, rough taped polaroids w/ scibbled notes. That touch personalized the posters, making them diary-like.

Is it too late to fix the typo on the ones where the second S of STDs is capitalized? Not that I was looking at the copy much.
An amusingly unusual thing to be looking at, a half-hour before going to teach the various uses of the imperfect and pluperfect subjunctive in Spanish...
