Although I am not a gay Bette Midler diva worshipper --I am a gay Joni Mitchell/ McGarrigle Sisters/ Sinead O'Connor diva worshipper; my younger gay brother is the Bette Midler diva worshipper, whereas my older gay brother is an Audra MacDonald diva worshipper, and my baby brother, who of course isn't gay because he's a Catholic priest, is a Kiri te Kanawa and other opera singers diva worshipper (my lesbian sister doesn't listen to much music at all, although she is fond enough of Melissa Etheridge)-- although I am not a gay Bette Midler diva worshipper, as I was saying, I nevertheless do know one of Bette Midler's Sophie Tucker jokes about her long-suffering husband Ernie:
"So my husband Ernie says to me, 'Sophie! You've got hard tits and a tight box."
And I said, 'Ernie! Get off my back.'"
